Our history
A journey through time - from the beginning to today
1912
Our house was built in 1912 by the Haenert family from Halle an der Saale. The newly built country house on the edge of the forest was perfectly framed by the impressive villa architecture of Oberhof. The building later served as a kindergarten and was an important part of community life.
1995
In 1995, the country house was extensively renovated and opened as a guesthouse for visitors to Oberhof. The loving restoration has preserved the historic charm of the house, while at the same time creating modern amenities and comfortable rooms.
2007
The positive response and growing demand led to the expansion of our boarding house. The apartment building with seven vacation apartments was built in 2007. The apartments offer space for families, groups or guests planning a longer stay.
2012
To mark the 100th anniversary of the country house, our property underwent another renovation. This welcome change gave us five more rooms and a cozy restaurant with a terrace and conservatory.
2023
The Waldschlösschen Oberhof has become a popular retreat for visitors to the idyllic Thuringian Forest. With a total of 19 cozy rooms and vacation apartments as well as our in-house restaurant, we cordially invite you to escape from everyday life and relax with us. Here you will find a place that combines hospitality and coziness.
